Yampah Mountain High School (YMHS), a dynamic and relationship-based alternative high school nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, is seeking a full-time Teacher/Advisor for the 2025–2026 school year.
We’re looking for an educator who believes in second chances, sees potential in every learner, and thrives in a non-traditional setting. At Yampah, advisors go beyond teaching—they become mentors, guides, and advocates. They balance academic instruction with meaningful case management, helping students shape and pursue their personalized learning plans.
Required:
- Colorado Secondary Teaching License (or eligible for licensure)
- Secondary endorsement (required in Math)
- Secondary endorsement (preferred in Special Education, ELL or Spanish)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for working with diverse youth
- Experience with differentiated instruction, particularly in literacy
- Background in experiential or project-based learning
- Understanding of trauma-informed and strength-based approaches
- Commitment to equity, student voice, and inclusive practices
