We're looking for a passionate School Counselor to support students at our alternative high school in beautiful Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
At Yampah, we serve a diverse student body with a strong foundation in Choice Theory, Restorative Practices, and Mindfulness. The counselor will guide students in areas including wellness education, behavioral coaching, post-secondary planning, and DBT-informed strategies.

Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for student success.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote a positive school environment.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student needs.
- Offer guidance on academic advising and special education resources.
- Advocate for students' well-being and connect them with community resources as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and students in an educational setting
- Strong communication and behavior management skills
- Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques
- Knowledge of special education practices and conflict management
- Background in mental health counseling and childhood development
- Familiarity with mental health screening and child protective services
- Understanding of cultural diversity and social work principles
