Job Description:
Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies or equipment. Duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, researching possible item selections, and following the Company’s Procurement Policies & Procedures.
Qualifications:
- Be fully conversant in purchasing and procurement procedures and practices.
- Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with the Maximo system.
- Previous experience in Procurement.
- Basic familiarity with mathematical functions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Favorable National Agency Check w/lnquiries (NACI); or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level, as applicable to the position requirement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks in applying knowledge of current and developing technologies to innovate, develop and apply solutions to a wide range of purchasing and procurement issues.
- Purchase parts and materials using Purchase Orders and Blanket Purchasing Agreement to meet ABOS needs.
- Create requests for quotes, source developments, bid analysis awards and other administrative duties.
- Reviews purchase requests; discusses requirements with department heads and vendors; examines price, suitability, and availability of items or services; compares specifications and reviews alternatives to ensure purchase requests are fulfilled.
- Ensures that the procurement process and documentation is in compliance with the Acquisition Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Obtains appropriate commodities and services in a timely manner to support production processes and schedules.
- Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures.
- Maintains the approved supplier list in accordance with the procurement policy and procedures.
- Maintains the centralized supplier/contractor file system.
- Expedites deliveries and or slows down deliveries as required in order to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Organizes, updates, and retains product information files and purchase order records.
- Participates in meetings and conference calls with internal and external personnel as required.
- Provides customer assistance and training throughout the procurement process.
- Perform cost-to-price analysis.
- Reconcile Purchase Orders discrepancies with applicable vendors and issue modifications when required.
- Validate and verify the customer’s requirements while checking all available assets before processing through the procurement process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
