Position is Sunday-Wednesday, 6pm-6am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Monitor all functions of the kiln, drier, and transfer cars to ensure proper operation.

· Make corrections to equipment as needed to maintain proper operation. Contact maintenance supervisor/personnel if additional help is needed.

· Tear down, clean, and rebuild the kiln cars

· Routinely check the kiln cars as they are moving through the plant (blocks, frames, bearings, etc…)

· Use laser lines and various tools to ensure alignment of the kiln car deck blocks

· Repair / adjust deck block on the cars as necessary

· Maintain supplies in an orderly fashion

· Greasing kiln cars - once a year (or as needed)

· Replacing kiln car end seals and insulation – once or twice a year (or as needed)

· Maintaining the numbers on the kiln cars

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Follow and support all company policies and procedures (safety, attendance, cell phone, etc…).

· Maintain clean and non-cluttered work areas (work benches, work tables, desks, etc…).

· Clean up and put all tools away after using them or at the end of the day.

· Clean up the work area after completing a repair or project.

· Consistently maintain and display a positive attitude.

· Operate all equipment (hand tools, forklifts, golf carts, loaders, scissor lift, etc…) in a safe and professional manner.

· Respond to area problems and job duties with a demonstration of self-initiative, good judgment, common sense, and professional courtesy.

· Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Knowledge of and experience using various types of hand and power tools is required.

· Some computer work is required, general knowledge of computer operations.

· General mechanical experience is preferred.

· Welding experience is preferred.

· Experience reading blueprints, parts manuals and service manuals is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, with outside agencies and other employees is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current driver's license is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 90 pounds repeatedly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires working evening, overnight and weekend hours on a 12-hour shift. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud in certain areas and require hearing protection. The employee will be working with insulation and silica that requires the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
