What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inn Manager - Newport, RI position at Yankee Peddler Inn?
Seeking a hands-on hospitality professional to be Inn Manager of a 19-room seasonal property in historic Newport, RI.
The Yankee Peddler Inn is located in the central area of Newport known as "Historic Hill." The inn's style is casual and authentic, with a high emphasis on cleanliness and friendliness. Many guests return year after year.
This is an active, hands-on position where the Inn Manager deals directly with guests and staff and should be able to jump in and help wherever necessary. Some housekeeping and front desk staff from last season are returning, but several more team members will need to be hired. The new inn manager will take a lead role in building and training the team.
The ideal Inn Manager candidate will have computer competency and experience with some sort of reservations program. Experience with payroll and basic business reporting is a plus, but we can train. Local knowledge of Newport is a big plus.
This position is salaried but seasonal, as the Yankee Peddler Inn is typically open from late April through October, with the manager's role extending slightly longer in either direction to prepare and seasonally close the property. There is the potential for a year-end bonus based on results.
