Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Job Description: The YMS teacher will be a full time teaching position. The teacher will be required to attend daily team meetings, all staff meetings, department meetings, and assigned committee meetings. Other activities, planning, and coordination of curriculum will be expected. The qualified applicant should exemplify the criteria listed below.
Criteria:
1. Valid South Dakota teaching certificate
a. Middle school teaching endorsement
b. 5-8 Middle-Level Education
c. 5-8 Grade Math
The following are not required but will be considered
a. Algebra 1
b. 5-8 Grade Social Studies
c. 5-8 Grade ELA
d. 5-8 Grade Technology
e. 5-8 Grade Science
2. Strong academic background and course work
3. Understanding in South Dakota Standards
4. Strong communication and planning skills
5. Ability to work with adolescents and understand the middle school philosophy
6. Knowledge of current technology to facilitate learning
7. Work well with cooperating teachers
