Position Title: Landscape Foreman
Reports To: Field Supervisor
Accountabilities
Accountable for managing up to 2 to 10 service workers, within budgeted job hours. Accountable for safety, minimizing days lost due to accidents and equipment/tool loss and damage and property damage.
Position Overview
The Crew Leader is an experienced professional directing the activities of their crew. He/she assures that team resources are used efficiently, personnel are adequately developed, and client needs, and expectations are being met.
Essential Responsibilities
- Managing daily maintenance route.
- Responsible for Aspire Clock-in, managing the accurate Start, Stop, Lunch times of assigned Service Workers at the required start time.
- Responsible for completing the required Daily or Weekly Orange Reports to the assigned projects.
- Managing morning load-up to ensure that all vehicles are in safe operating order, loaded with the proper tools/equipment, and work ticket/issues are properly assigned to your route.
- Responsible for proper training in the operation of equipment/tools.
- Responsible for addressing and minimizing equipment emergencies and breakdowns in the field.
- Responsible for addressing and minimizing accidents and incidents related to staff and customer property.
- Communicating and documenting to the Field Supervisor and mechanics any repair and replacement requirements on equipment/tools.
- Responsible for conducting minor repairs to tools and equipment as needed. (Belts, blades, oil changes….)
- Responsible for proper use and enforcement of PPE with crew members.
- Enforce operating procedures and work processes that ensure performance and personnel safety standards.
- Responsible for safety of truck/trailer connection, trailer brakes and lights.
- Responsible for the condition of vehicles, equipment, and tools per company policy.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily activities for assigned Service Workers. Assists employees as necessary to meet production schedules.
- Train employees in proper operations and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Maintain a professional appearance by wearing proper uniform.
- Arrive to work at scheduled time.
- Assist with ice & snow removal operations if needed.
- Support mission, goals, and strategies of Yardnique.
- Assist with other duties as needed.
Knowledge, Experience, and Other Requirements
- This position prefers a two-year in landscape horticulture experience as a Lead Man in landscape or maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of standard landscape horticultural practices is required.
- Beginning knowledge hardscape and irrigation concepts.
- Candidate must have basic English language skill.
- Basic Spanish, preferred.
- Basic communication skills, supervisory skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must.
- Candidate must have good organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
- Have not been convicted of a felony and is not a registered sex offender.
- Be able to pass an initial drug test and any future tests.
Certifications
This position requires that the individual be certified and licensed as follows:
- Valid State Drivers License. CDL preferred; must maintain a driving record that is insurable by the company’s agent.
- Studying for the Pesticide Trainee License.
