Job Summary
Yarde Metals is looking for a bar saw operator to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. A bar saw operator sets up and safely operates the saws to cut material into pieces as ordered by the customer.

Job Summary
Yarde Metals is looking for a bar saw operator to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. A bar saw operator sets up and safely operates the saws to cut material into pieces as ordered by the customer.
Responsibilities
- SAFETY FIRST!
- Organize work orders to efficiently process material.
- Transport material throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes.
- Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.
- Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Confirm source material processed is from the correct location and is the correct material.
- Conduct first piece and in-process inspections according to quality sampling plan.
- Stack and sort finished products for packaging.
- Pack and protect material for shipment.
- Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.
- This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery***
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- History of working safely and productively.
- Warehouse, material handling, forklift, and experience required.
- Previous machining or experience directly related to the duties of the position strong preferred.
- A high level of attention to detail is required.
- Able to read and understand English to follow work instructions.
- Basic math skills required to convert decimals and fractions and to accurately use and read tape measures and calipers.
- Dependable, punctual, and works well with others.
- Able to pass background check, drug screen, physical, meet physical requirements of the position.
- Willingness to work required overtime.
