Job Overview:
YardWorks is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment used in landscaping, grading, excavation, and site preparation. This role is essential in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, excavators, backhoes, trenchers, loaders, and other landscape equipment.
- Perform grading, excavation, material handling, and site preparation tasks.
- Follow project plans and specifications to ensure precision and quality.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Load and unload materials as needed for job sites.
- Work closely with crew members, project managers, and site supervisors to complete tasks on schedule.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in landscaping, construction, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of grading, excavation, and earth-moving techniques.
- Ability to read and understand site plans and project specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS grading systems.
- CDL license for hauling equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge for minor repairs and troubleshooting.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 70 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
