SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing all facilities aspects that impact the day-to-day operations of our facility infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
FACILITIES
- Work in conjunction with operations to execute short and long-range facility utilization plans. Anticipate space and use requirements to facilitate business plans.
- Work with architects, engineers, interior designers and Yaskawa Motoman management as required to direct the design for construction and/or remodeling of all facilities including ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Develop and administer contracts/procedures and oversee the administration of all outside contracts for equipment maintenance, space planning, architectural, engineering, construction services, and other facility related contracts.
- Manage construction projects to meet user needs, required budgets and timelines.
- Plan and control maintenance and repair of facilities, finishes, furnishings, and grounds.
- Understand and utilize all building systems, including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, burglar alarm systems, building access systems, security camera systems, lighting control systems, industrial air compressor systems, and electrical switch gear and distribution systems.
- Manage insurance inspections of facilities.
- Perform reviews and evaluations of utility usage and develop methods to obtain savings. Implement and manage computerized energy management systems and programs.
- Manage day-to-day building operations. Utilize help desk software to effectively manage requests and build knowledge database.
- Monitor internal customer feedback and ensure that all team members deliver the highest level of customer service possible.
- Develop, enhance, and sustain facility operations that support corporate goals including customer satisfaction.
- Moderate travel required. Must have a valid driver's license and full coverage automobile insurance.
- Work closely with Environmental Health & Safety to ensure that our facilities and facility-based activities meet regulatory and safety requirements.
- Assist with development and management of the Facilities department budget. Collaborate with departments throughout the organization regarding budgetary items that involve facilities.
- Provide consultative facilities assistance to remote locations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or industrial management preferred and nine years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in facilities management.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to work with other building systems including fire sprinkler system, fire alarm system, burglar alarm system, security camera system, lighting control system, industrial air compressor systems, and electrical switch gear. Strong experience with manufacturing facility electrical systems and its components. Must be able to read blueprints. Familiarity with several computer programs is required, including Excel, Microsoft Word, and internet skills (for researching Facilities Management means and methods.) Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of EAP, OSHA and other state/federal program requirements.
Experience in management of operational projects or construction projects and contract negotiation. Project Management or Construction Management experience a plus. A combination of other professional education along with very extensive Facility Management experience may also be acceptable.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions, working high, precarious places, and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Duties may require the occasional use of/contact with/exposure to various hazardous materials (such as, but not limited to grease, oils, lubricants, paint, thinner, parts cleaner, etc.). Employees should have basic awareness of hazardous materials cautions. Those directly using the materials must have specific knowledge of material in use.
