Summary

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Use of appropriate safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes may be required.
Duties may require the occasional use/of contact with/exposure to various hazardous
materials (such as, but not limited to grease, oils, lubricants, paint, thinner, parts cleaner, etc.). Employees should have basic awareness of hazardous materials cautions. Those directly using the materials must have specific knowledge of material in use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure all chemicals are properly labeled, add labels to new/worn out chemical bottles and fill cabinets.
- Regularly checks all safety barriers throughout the manufacturing environment to ensure proper function.
- Checks air regulators, as well as pallet jacks, lift tables, banders, chains and slings to ensure proper functionality.
- Keep the tool crib organized and stocked as needed.
- Ensure forklifts and scissor lifts are operating appropriately and safely for manufacturing use on a daily basis. Filling out proper paperwork to show daily maintenance.
- Run the floor scrubber as needed throughout manufacturing to maintain and safe and clean environment.
- Ensure the manufacturing environment is clean and free of debris and safety hazards. Empty trash, recycling and cardboard containers/compactor. Consult with Leads to order additional cardboard as needed. Empties the compactor when full.
- Ensure shipping carts are stocked for the technicians.
- Evaluates the shop floor for any holes from lagging machinery down and fill them as needed.
- Work with Quality to assist with crimper calibrations.
- Consult with Planning to cut wire trough for upcoming jobs.
- Maintains organization of unused toolboxes, keeping them clean, up to date and ready to be assigned to new hires.
- Ensures wood racks remain full.
