Title : Data Center Technician
Location : Elk Grove Village, IL 60007
Duration : 6 Months Contract (Potential to convert to FTE)
Working Hours : M - F 3 pm CST – 12 am CST.
Job Description :
Resource's typical working day :
- They will be preforming rack and stack on servers and network assets in a data center.
- The Tech will need to install and test fiber and copper cabling.
- They will also need to know how to terminate copper.
- They will need to reboot a device and have general familiarity with how severs work.
- Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred.
- Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor.
- Install servers that can weigh up to 40-50 lbs. (will use a server lift and always working in teams).
- They are occasionally asked to be on trouble shooting calls or speak to the client.
- Very fast pace and busy data center environment.
- Years of Experience needed : 2 years’ working in a data center.
- Level of Education : H.S Diploma.
- Systems / Software proficiencies : Microsoft Office Suite (especially excel and teams).
- Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred.
- Looking for some tenure with experience.
- Interview Process : 1 round, virtual, 2nd round if needed.
