Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our funeral home. This role is essential in providing a warm, welcoming, and respectful environment for grieving families and visitors. The receptionist will answer inbound calls, assist walk-in clients, and provide administrative support to our funeral directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct inbound phone calls with professionalism and empathy.
- Greet and assist families and visitors with warmth, sensitivity, and discretion.
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor when interacting with grieving families.
- Manage appointment scheduling and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
- Handle light administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and document preparation.
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy and organized.
- Assist funeral directors and staff with basic clerical duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a professional or service-oriented industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to multitask and remain composed in sensitive situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic office technology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professionalism at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a funeral home, healthcare, or similar field is a plus.
