Yates Industries is looking for a Disassembler/Assembler in our St. Clair Shores plant!
Yates Industries, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic & pneumatic cylinders, is currently looking to hire dependable, self-motivated individuals, for our Cylinder Repair Department to dis- assemble and assemble, fluid power cylinders. The qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined and be able to read/interpret blueprints. Lifting up to 50 lbs. is required.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review blueprints of assemblies and parts
- Assemble all bore size of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and/or disassemble and evaluate for repairs
- Dis-assemble cylinder without causing further damage
- Thoroughly clean all components of cylinder
- Perform dimensional inspections on all cylinders assembled to ensure conformance with sales order requirements
- Performs pressure cycling test on both hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders of all bore sizes
- Sets up and performs cylinder testing via hydraulic and pneumatic test standards per work order requirements
- Operates material handling equipment to move inventory including forklifts, overhead crane, and pallet jacks
- Evaluates cylinders
- Other duties as assigned

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment:
- Forklift
- Overhead crane
- Pallet jacks
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- Ability to evaluate cylinders
- Mechanical skills
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Familiar with both micrometers and caliper measuring tools, a plus.
- Able to read blue prints, a plus.
- Must be mechanically inclined. Past experience in assembly of mechanical components, fluid power components, a plus
