Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up O.D. and I.D. vertical and horizontal grinding machine, changing wheels, and offsets and setting work offsets
- Operate grinding equipment to produce part according to customer orders.
- Set up and operate Honing machine.
- Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Inspect parts to ensure they are made within print specifications.
- Prioritize work orders for timely completion to accommodate customer needs.
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to five years of mill/drill experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge in ID, OD, steps and shoulders.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Able to hold tight tolerances.
- Able to use all micrometers, gauges & profilometer.
- Ability to mentor coworkers
- Familiarity with measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
- Familiar with metal grinding O.D. materials such as 1045 steel, heat treat steel, hard chrome, 1020/1026 steel’s, stainless steels.
