What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY SAFETY COORDINATOR position at Yates Industries Inc?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handles ISO management representative responsibilities per ISO standards.
- Performs annual Internal ISO audit.
- Acts as company safety coordinator.
- Schedules annual safety inspections for all Michigan plants.
- Creates purchase orders for safety/quality items as required.*
- Monitors hi-lo and crane permit compliance/trainings.*
- Maintains all safety documents/procedures with Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.*
- Handles BSB internal phone administration.*
- Sends out gages, torque wrenches and other items necessary for calibration.
- Calibrates micrometers in house with standards.
- Updates Gage-Trak scheduling.
- Creates and/or updates employee job descriptions for all company positions.*
- Assists Accounting Department with accounts payable/accounts receivable during absences or vacations.*
- Maintains the safety scoreboard with all pertinent information.*
- Utilizes scoreboard to enhance safety awareness and performance.*
- Conducts conformance and performance audits to the pm checklists for all machine centers and operators.*
- Lead on RMA returns – orders, jobs, purchasing, etc.
- Completes all warranty paperwork and CARs.
- Issues Corrective Actions (CAR) and investigates to get to root cause of problem.
- Lead on Job Change process in shop for order revisions.
- Lead on NC Product Process, including communicating with purchasing on inventory control.
- Corrects labor errors.
- Issues cards for the Kanban process
- Collects information for the Management Meetings and provides the BOS and all quality items for Michigan. Also provides the BOS information for AL, GA, OH for management.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Made2Manage.
