Yates Industries is looking for a 1st & 2nd shift Saw Operator in our St. Clair Shores plant!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the saw is clean and in good working condition with daily maintenance reviews.
- Review and understand the rod drawing.
- Review all paperwork for jobs and arrange according to premium, a must, warranty, or regular based on need or due date required by the customer.
- Pull required material from stock shelves.
- Measure required lengths to be cut adding 1/8" stock for machining allowance for tube and rod material.
- Cut tubes and rods as required based on job priority.
- Place cut material with rod drawing once saw operation is complete.
- Identify cut stock with the job number and moves to proper location.
- Proceed to next job in priority order.
- Other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
- Able to operate abrasive cut saw and auto-feed saw
- Able to operate a crane
