What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Nurse Coordinator position at Yavapai Community College?
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will serve as the department liaison with clinical affiliates. Supervises and coordinates clinical experiences for AH students, ensuring compliance with curriculum, agency, and regulatory requirements and standards. Maintains all new and expiring affiliation agreements. Assigns students to clinical sites, manages schedules, and ensures adequate clinical opportunities. Collaborates with faculty to align clinical experiences with curriculum learning outcomes and in providing guidance and support during the clinical rotation. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with clinical affiliates for student placements. Maintains accurate student and employee clinical records and evaluations, while ensuring compliance with agency and regulatory standards. Evaluates effectiveness of clinical experiences. Stays current with AH and Nursing education best practices and industry trends to enhance the quality of clinical education.
This position also serves as direct support to the AH program staff, faculty, and director. Develops, coordinates, participates, and assists in educational training and requirements as needed. Coordinates new student workshops and processes new student applications and readmissions. Maintains American Heart Association course materials. Oversees laboratory supplies and equipment for all Allied Health programs and responsible for inventory and organization of such items. Oversees simulation programs to ensure curriculum and regulatory compliance. This position includes teaching AH classes as needed and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Expectations & Requirements
Current, unencumbered registered nurse license for the state of Arizona (or eligible)
At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care
Baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Community college teaching experience in a nursing program leading to licensure
Experience with nursing simulation and best practice standards
Experience with online, blended/hybrid, and/or clinical instruction
Experience working with culturally diverse populations
