As our Family Birthing Center Nurse at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Group, you will help expectant mothers and their families during the birthing process so they can have a comfortable and positive experience. Every day, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Family Birthing Center. You will be expected to assess patient needs, monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage pain, and assist with medical procedures as needed. To be successful in this role, you should have experience working in labor and delivery or a related field, and be familiar with fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure are also essential for this role.

Responsibilities
- Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc
- Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring
- Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage and emergency procedures
- Educate patients on various interventions or procedures - medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages
- Assess newborn and provide care.
- Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family
Qualifications
Minimum
- Associate degree of Nursing or foreign equivalent
- One year of RN experience
- Demonstrates competency in basic EKG skills by passing EKG test or successfully completing basic EKG class/modules within six months of position
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Preferred
- Bachelor degree of Nursing or foreign equivalent
- Professional certification in area of specialty
- American Heart Association PALS
