Certification Details BLS ACLS PALS Job Details Pediatric / MST is a mixed unit of adult & pediatric patients. The ratio of adults and pediatric patients vary and at times there are more adults than pediatric patients. Must be willing to care for adult and pediatric patients. Float to the MST unit on EC to care for adult MST patients, if the census on the pediatric / MST unit drops. of beds : 10 Ratios : PEDIATRICS 1 : 3-4, MST 1 : 5 Common diagnoses / Types of patients include surgical and medical cases. Job Requirements Experience working with children is required. Must take and pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. Required certifications : BLS, ACLS & PALS. Schedule Information 12-hour shifts, 0700 / 1900 – 1930 / 0730 Weekend Requirement : every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift. Holiday Requirement : Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly. If low census, staff rotates standby turns. Unit Specific Information RNs do need to be able to read their Tele strips. Scrub Color / Dress Code : NAVY. Unit / Department specific orientation : Attend hospital orientation, unit orientation based on experience. Additional Details Common diagnoses include MRSA, C-diff infections, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, respiratory illnesses, seizures, dehydration, appendectomy.
