Job Details

  • Pediatric / MST is a mixed unit of adult & pediatric patients.
  • The ratio of adults and pediatric patients vary and at times there are more adults than pediatric patients.
  • Must be willing to care for adult and pediatric patients.
  • Float to the MST unit on EC to care for adult MST patients, if the census on the pediatric / MST unit drops.
  • of beds : 10
  • Ratios : PEDIATRICS 1 : 3-4, MST 1 : 5
  • Common diagnoses / Types of patients include surgical and medical cases.

    • Job Requirements

  • Experience working with children is required.
  • Must take and pass the dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract.
  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS & PALS.

    • Schedule Information

  • 12-hour shifts, 0700 / 1900 – 1930 / 0730
  • Weekend Requirement : every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.
  • Holiday Requirement : Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly.
  • If low census, staff rotates standby turns.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • RNs do need to be able to read their Tele strips.
  • Scrub Color / Dress Code : NAVY.
  • Unit / Department specific orientation : Attend hospital orientation, unit orientation based on experience.

    • Additional Details

  • Common diagnoses include MRSA, C-diff infections, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, respiratory illnesses, seizures, dehydration, appendectomy.
