Job Requirements Minimum of 1 year in MedSurg, prefer candidates with experience in telemetry. Must be willing to care for both MST / PCU patients. Dysrhythmia exam on hire. Schedule Information 12-hour shifts, 0700 / 1900 – 1930 / 0730 Every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift. Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly. If low census, staff rotates standby turns. Unit Specific Information Unit Details : MST / PCU (Med Surg Tele / PCU) Additional Details Required certifications : BLS, ACLS Unit MST / PCU (Med Surg Tele / PCU) of beds : 30 (three 10-bed units) Ratios : 1 : 5-6 Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Surgical : total hip & knee replacement, small bowel resection, Hysterectomy, exploratory lap.; Medical : MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempt, drug or Alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID; Telemetry : chest pain Experience or 'Must have' skills : Will need to be able to read and interpret telemetry. May be asked to precept nursing students. Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds that include MST, PEDS, & our Acuity Adaptable MCU unit which admits ICU / PCU / MST. NAs take 10-15 patients. If no NA RN takes 3 patients and Provides primary care. Care for stable c-pap or bi-pap patients. Yes. We have Remote Monitor Techs. RNs do need to be able to Read their Tele strips. Floating Requirements : Float into our Multi Care Unit & Pediatric unit to care for adult MST, also float to our West Campus MedSurg Tele. Currently can wear any scrub color except camouflage. Attend hospital orientation, unit orientation based on experience. Must be willing to precept nursing students.
