What we are looking for :
Yazaki is looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our Logistics team in El Paso, TX. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization.
What you will be doing :
- Analyzes product engineering drawing and specifications to determine packaging physical requirements, quality and material needs.
- Assess current packaging solutions to assure compatibility with new model year design changes, and implement packaging design changes, as required to preserve product protection and ergonomic line presentation.
- Perform feasibility evaluation of different packaging materials and technologies. Analyze costs and benefits to recommend optimum packaging solution.
- Creates engineering specifications and work instructions for packaging components, publish product packaging specifications in company system and communicate to affected departments.
- Identifies and drives resolution of problems and / or non-conformances reported throughout supply chain.
Tracks effectiveness of corrective actions once implemented
Project responsibility for packaging specific projects and could be assigned as a team member to other strategic projects to provide packaging expertise.
