About the job Release Train Engineer (SaFE Certified : $96k to $135k)
The Agile Release Train Engineer will utilize industry proven frameworks and drive the appropriate Agile Methodology (Kanban / SCRUM, etc.) that focuses on predictable, quality-delivery, and drive continuous improvement. The Agile Release Train Engineer will assist teams to deliver at scale while improving how the teams work and function.
What You'll Get to Do :
- Create an environment of mutual influence with client and team members
- Apply systems thinking and support teams in problem identification, decision-making
- Maintain Train-level dashboard reporting to track execution
- Track and escalate impediments, and manage risks and dependencies
- Coach teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and thinking
- Support Agile coaching activities across program trains to elevate the Program's application of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Facilitate groups and meetings that includes the pre-work, the facilitation during the meetings, and the follow-up. Team size ranges from 2-3 to 150
- Manage Train-wide processes, including :
o Support preparation for and facilitation of Train meetings and processes, including Agile ceremonies and quarterly release planning activities
o Identify and pursue opportunities to fine-tune and improve Train execution, recommend enhancements related to new and / or existing workflows based on broad view of the organization and a Lean Agile mindset
o Support other functions of the Digital Transformation Office, as needed
o Complex Facilitation / Dependency Management Techniques - Cross-Team / Cross-Department
o Develop Portfolio Management Systems with the Product Management Team
o Manage Internal / External Initiatives / Develop Tracking Mechanism within JIRA - JIRA / JIRA Align
o Drive Cross-Team / ART / Departmental Impediments / Planning / Collaboration / Coordination
o Drive Delivery / Continuous Improvement by Utilizing Feedback Metrics (Delivery Rate / Quality, etc.)
o Work Across Stakeholders / Teams to Continuously Improve
o Understand Domain Architecture / Upstream and Downstream Dependencies
o Understand the Business Context / Leverage Context to Manage Risk / Prioritize the Teams
o Provide Regular / Open Communication Across the Program / Stakeholders for Transparency / Awareness of Progress / Impediments, etc.
o Assist in Establishing Governance Structure - Decision Making is Weighted Toward Empowered Teams
o Leverage Quantitative / Qualitative Research / Analytics Tools to Measure Success / Present Opportunities / Make Recommendations / Support Evidence-Based Decision Making, etc.
o Actively Drive for Deep Understanding of the Needs, Goals of Associates, and Lines-of-Business / Enable Creation of Platforms, Products, and Services that Serve Multiple Needs
o Influence Cross-Divisional Leaders in the Prioritization of New Features / Capabilities
o Proactively Identify Impediments on Critical Path / Actively Remove Impediments, etc.
o Teach / Mentor / Coach Teams - SCRUM Masters / ARTs / Product Teams Emerging on Agile / Lean / XP Methods, etc.
o Act as Coach to Any Agile Role / Stakeholder
o Lead in a Variety of Opportunities - Communities of Practice / Conferences / Classroom Training / Independent Study to Develop Staff / Community, etc.
