GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direct supervision of the Development Director, and general supervision of the Executive Director, execute communications and marketing initiatives, projects and functions as directed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Development Director in fundraising and development initiatives.
- Carry out the marketing and branding efforts for the agency, including a media engagement strategy.
- Development and marketing of awareness, education, outreach, and fundraising efforts of the organization, especially via social media.
- Produce digital and print collateral such as newsletters, annual report, agency flyers and brochures.
- Produce and maintain annual content calendar for all agency communication platforms
- Maintain and generate content for the YCC website, calendars, social media, and print media that reflects the organizational mission, strategic plan, and services in a timely and trauma-informed manner.
- Respond to online requests and connect inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Produce graphic design as needed for communication pieces, events, projects.
- Promote YCC events, trainings, educational opportunities, youth, and volunteer activities.
- Assist with recruiting volunteers for organizational needs, fundraising, and awareness events.
- Help coordinate and support special events sponsored by YCC.
- Generate ideas and creative ways to raise funds.
- Track effectiveness of communication strategies through analytic reports.
- Represent YCC in pertinent meetings or opportunities in the community.
- Assist at the front desk as needed.
- Maintain continuity binders defining procedures and processes for the position.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures stated in the Employee Handbook and any applicable Policy and Procedure Manual.

- Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in either public relations, marketing, community outreach, and/or non-profit industry.
OR
- Combination of education and experience.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
- High degree of energy, self-motivation, collaboration, and flexibility.
- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
- Outstanding relationship-building.
- Ability to think strategically and interact with all people.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care preferred.
- High level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion in generating messaging and when interacting with the public and staff.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated experience designing and producing online, digital, and printed materials, especially for fundraising communications.
- Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills across multiple mediums.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, website design, and social media management.
- Knowledge and experience with the Adobe Suite preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products and Canva.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and responsiveness.
- Bilingual/Spanish-speaking a plus.
