Job Summary :
The Accounting Manager will assume full accountability for the oversight of the daily operations of the accounting department, with a primary focus on the month-end close processes, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, exceptional time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to support the company's financial goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise and mentor the accounting team by providing clear guidance, constructive feedback, and support in their professional development. Conduct performance reviews.
Offer transaction support and expertise to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes.Support the professional growth of team members by fostering the development of their accounting skills through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.Process Improvement :Elevate accounting standards by implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency in all financial operations.
Drive projects from the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, manuals, SOP’s, and other documentation as needed.Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.Leverage technology and automation to streamline accounting processes and drive improvements.Business Process Understanding :Develop and maintain a deep understanding of business processes that lead to results on the financial statements.
Collaborate with various departments to gain insights into how operational decisions, transactions, and events impact financial reporting.Ensure that accounting entries accurately reflect business activities and that any changes to business processes are properly accounted for.Month-End Close Process :Oversee and manage the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting within reporting deadlines.
Prepare, review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments. Research variances to expectations and perform accounting error root cause analysis.Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and company policies.Conduct ongoing financial reviews throughout the month to ensure accuracy and alignment with reporting standards.Escalate any material risk to the financial statements to the appropriate leaders.Stakeholder Collaboration :Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support financial planning and analysis.
Deliver timely and precise financial information to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring the data is presented in a clear, concise, and easily interpretable format to support informed decision-making.Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.the development of their accounting skills through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.Compliance and Reporting :Oversee accounting operations for multiple entities, including the management and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, with the support of 3rd party providers.Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and provide necessary documentation and support.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.Desired Professional Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.indspo
