School Summer Camp Director

Our Camp Directors lead and help deliver a fun, educational experience for all the campers. The Camp Director is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the camp as well as camp preparation and planning. The Camp Director needs to remain consistent throughout the entire week of camp in order to provide stability for the students.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Select songs (featured camp songs provided) and cast students based on individual skill and ability.
- Manage daily activities and rehearsal schedules to keep the day moving and kids engaged.
- Direct Camp Instructors to run rehearsals and help struggling students.
- Keep notes on campers to provide parents with feedback (we’ll discuss this more in the Conversion section of this manual).
- Send daily notes via PIke13 to keep parents updated with the progression of the camp.
- Organize and manage the show at the end of the week by developing the set-list, managing gear needs, managing the stage and addressing the audience at the show.
- Create an inclusive environment and monitor/manage student behavior. Camp Directors should immediately report any major issues to school management.
Help get new students excited about joining a seasonal program at School of Rock.
Skill Requirements:
- 4 years experience teaching and/or working in a camp setting.
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
- Strong organizational skills
- Very strong customer relations skills
- Resourceful and good problem-solver
- Works well under pressure
- Ideal candidate is a working musician (actively gigging, recording, or playing in a band)
- College level music training/education helpful
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
- Good judgment a must
Availability to work 9am-3pm summer camps for the full week (Monday-Friday). Camps are held the week of June 2 - the week of August 8.
