Yeh and Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to lead and oversee all geotechnical projects. You will supervise project execution, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and adherence to client requirements, while mentoring and managing staff. Additionally, you will play a key role in business development, maintaining and building client relationships, and securing new project opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
- 15-20 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with significant project management expertise.
- Valid Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Extensive experience in transportation sector projects.
- Strong geotechnical design experience, including deep and shallow foundation design, soil nail walls, MSE walls, and slope stabilization.
- In-depth knowledge of site investigation methods and sampling techniques, including geophysical methods and traditional soil borings.
- Proficient in MathCAD, Slide, MSEW, RSPile, LPILE, Settle3, and other technical software.
- Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations, with proven business development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate engineering recommendations confidently to clients and construction teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in roadway design, airport design, deep foundations, landslide mitigation, and rock slope design.
- Positive attitude with a strong willingness to contribute to business growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Requirements
- Supervise and monitor projects to ensure timely execution, safety compliance, and high-quality deliverables.
- Manage and mentor engineering staff, focusing on training, development, and performance evaluation.
- Serve as the design lead and project manager, developing plans, sections, details, and calculations.
- Evaluate subsurface data and perform geotechnical analyses, including foundation bearing capacity, slope stability, rockfall hazard analysis, and pavement design.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, proposals, and cost estimates in a cost-efficient manner.
- Lead business development efforts by maintaining frequent client contact and outreach to both new and existing clients.
- Manage budgets, deliverables, and consultations with clients during construction phases.
- Review junior engineers' work, ensuring quality standards are met on all project deliverables.
- Act as a technical advisor to junior engineers and a reviewer for other team members.
- Coordinate and communicate project progress with clients and the project team.
- Oversee field components, including site visits and travel, with some overnight trips required.
