Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our food service team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring that our food preparation and service run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

*This is a 10month position, closely following the public school schedule for breaks and holidays*

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the kitchen staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Help with stocking supplies and inventory management to ensure the kitchen is well-equipped.
• Support cook in various tasks as needed during busy service periods.
• Dispose of waste properly and assist in maintaining overall hygiene standards in the kitchen.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about culinary techniques.
