Yellow Breeches Educational Center (YBEC) is an innovative, K-12 special education school that combines traditional academics with experiential and adventure education. Our small class sizes of 6:1 in secondary allow for personalized, hands-on instruction that meets each student’s unique needs in an engaging and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to the needs of each student in a core subject area.
- Work closely with fellow teachers to design and implement cross-curricular activities.
- Plan and lead weekly experiential activities, including local field trips, career exploration opportunities, college tours, and other transition-related activities.
- Collaborate with our Adventure Teacher to plan and execute weekly adventure trips, such as mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUPing), hiking, and other outdoor activities.
- Assist in organizing and participating in week-long adventure and experiential camping trip held once a year, fostering growth, teamwork, and resilience among our students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; must be eligible for teacher certification.
- Previous experience working with youth, particularly in outdoor or adventure settings, is highly preferred.
- A genuine passion for the outdoors and adventure-based education.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
