Yellow Wood Academy is looking for qualified Substitute Teacher candidates for the 2024-2025 school year substitute pool. This is an at-will position and days and hours can vary Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We are happy to have people who are available any days of the week

Mandatory orientation and training will occur after a candidate(s) are selected for the Substitute Pool.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

· Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas.

· Effective in handling multiple concurrent tasks

· Familiar with Microsoft Word and Outlook, ability to learn and work with the school’s integrated data-based software package as needed.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.

· Completed background check post-interview and three professional references

Responsibilities:

• The guest teacher provides instruction to students (as directed by the instructor's lesson plans) including assessment, instruction, and evaluation of students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Guest teachers may also be asked to provide class coverage on an as needed basis.
• Interact with students and maintain a cordial and cooperative working relationship with colleagues, parents, administrators, and other staff.
• Provide guidance to students that will promote their educational development.
• Follow teacher's lesson plans and provide documentation as to the progress achieved during the substitute assignment.

Benefits:

· Daily pay rate (full day) $200; (half day) $100

· Sick leave

Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per day

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• On call

• Are you available to teach on an on-call basis? Classes start at 8:30am and a completed by 3:30 pm.
• Are you available for single day substituting as well as the possibility of long term substitution (multiple days) if the opportunity presents itself?
