What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Painter (MUST BE LOCAL) position at Yellowstone Blast Services?
Immediate position available for a Painter / Sandblaster - located in Clearwater, Florida. Great opportunity for an experienced Painter / Sandblaster who can assist the lead Manager on various projects. Must have at least 1 to 2 years of Painting experience.
Responsibilities for The Painter-
- Apply coatings to surfaces by use of brush, roller, conventional spray, airless, thermal spray, and other specialty coating applications.
- Prepares product for prime & paint, washing, drying, cleaning, wire brushing & sanding.
- Clean and store paint tools and equipment after use.
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed by a paint crew.
- Measure and mix paint with a paint mixer.
- Performs grinding, sanding, blasting, and polishing per work instructions.
- Monitor and maintaining a breathing air box during blasting operations.
- Monitor and maintain paint and blast pots during paint operations.
- Shovels or pours abrasives, sand, grit, or shots of specified grade into machine hopper.
- Perform general housekeeping and all assigned duties on a jobsite, as directed by the supervisor.
- Prepare surfaces for coating application using hand tools, power tools and blasting equipment.
- Comply with safety practices, rules, and regulations while performing job duties and follow company procedure in reporting unsafe conditions or practices.
Requirements for The Painter / Sandblaster:
- 1 to 2 years of Painting and Blasting experience.
- 1 to 2 years of Telescoping Forklift experience.
- Current driver's license with a clean record is required.
- OSHA Certification (C-10 AND c-12) a plus
- Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required.
- Must be capable of climbing onto trailers or trucks and onto racks to secure and move equipment as well as climbing ladders to access scaffolding up to high, precarious places.
- Be honest, hardworking, reliable, and have a positive attitude.
Physical Demands/Work Environment for The Painter / Sandblaster:
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
