This seasonal internship will expose a motivated individual to all facets of golf course management encountered in the Rocky Mountains. Sitting at nearly 8,000', the Yellowstone Club offers the Intern the experiences required to maintain cool-season turf to high standards in a short growing season.
The Student Intern works closely with the Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, and assistant superintendents, actively participating in a variety of agronomic practices essential in preparing for a career in the Golf Course Management industry. Additional responsibilities include the overall detail condition of a group of golf holes throughout their internship, where the intern will have the opportunity to lead small crews, showcasing their organizational skills and leadership capabilities.
Position Availability: May 1, 2025 - October 8, 2025
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Works closely with the seasonal maintenance staff, ensuring proper and safe use of maintenance facility and equipment, and will occasionally supervise a small team for specific projects especially on assigned holes. The Intern must be a self-starter, willing to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, holidays and diverse tournament schedules. While overtime is always offered, Yellowstone Club strives for a work-life balance, offering two days off per week throughout the internship.
Education & Experience
Participant or recent graduate of an accredited turf program, with 2 seasons of golf course work experience preferred.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assist in routine agronomic practices in the upkeep of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, ponds, streams and related structures. Proficient on a variety of equipment with the ability to properly demonstrate equipment use to co-workers.
- Monitor soil conditions using POGO sensors, hand-watering as needed.
- Perform sprayer and spreader calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides.
- Maintain application records related to the use of chemicals on the course, while tracking chemical inventories.
- Daily course set-up and club tournament preparations.
- Constant monitoring of the turfgrass systems during the growing season, ensuring the proper water, nutrient, and disease prevention levels.
- Project coordination and crew leadership on a variety of tasks associated with assigned golf holes.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Requires a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as approved by the Company's insurance carrier.
- The candidate should aspire to pursue a career in golf course management, have strong organizational skills, be highly organized and team oriented.
