Responsible for operating construction and maintenance equipment for County road construction, maintenance and repair activities; does related work as required. This position requires employee to furnish minimal hand tools (screw driver, hammer, pliers, adjustable open end wrench, etc.) for minor repairs and maintenance of equipment.

- Operates construction equipment such as rollers, trucks, sweepers, mowers and loaders to construct, maintain and repair county roads, roadway shoulders, culverts and bridges;
- Compacts, spreads, sweeps, hauls and places materials on county roads, bridges and right-of-ways;
- Trims trees, rebuilds fence lines, and compacts materials to maintain roads;
- Performs field surveying and record keeping;
- Stakes county roads per engineering designs.
- Graduation from high school or GED; and
- One (1) years' experience operating and maintaining construction equipment; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL); Class A II with tanker endorsement minimum issued by the State of Montana.
