What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Weed Control Technician position at Yellowstone County?
**Monday-Thursdays, every Friday off**
Must be able to obtain pesticide license.
Seasonal position throughout the summer months of May through August performing weed control tasks under the direction of the County Weed Superintendent. The nature of this work will require that an employee establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with the County Weed Superintendent, County Weed Foreman, other employees, landowners, and the public.

Seasonal position throughout the summer months of May through August performing weed control tasks under the direction of the County Weed Superintendent. The nature of this work will require that an employee establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with the County Weed Superintendent, County Weed Foreman, other employees, landowners, and the public.
- Willingness and ability to learn about noxious weeds, spraying weeds, and other control and mitigation measures in the control of noxious weeds and their propagation;
- Ability to obtain a Government Applicator License;
- Assist in the proper use of herbicides and their application;
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions;
- Ability to fill out records properly and assist supervisors in completing reports;
- Assist in regular and required maintenance of spray equipment and vehicles;
- Desire to represent the county in a professional and respectful manner;
- Will be exposed to herbicides and will be required to maintain proper safety measures and regulations regarding herbicides.
- Ability to drive a one-ton pick-up truck
- Graduation from high school or GED; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must possess a valid MT driver’s license (background check verification required),
- Have some knowledge of Yellowstone County Roads.
- Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the State of Montana
- Ability to obtain a government applicator license issued by the State of Montana Dept. of Agriculture within 30 days of hire.
