Under the general guidance of the Branch Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for securing and purchasing all plant, hardscape and irrigation material needs for upcoming installations. Responsibilities
- Responsible for the health, disposition and quality of all materials purchased, including onsite inspections
- Responsible for sourcing, purchasing and coordination of delivery for materials used in the installation of jobs
- Create purchase orders for invoices
- Responsible for meeting budgetary requirements for material costs
- Responsible for the coordination, dispersal, and tracking of the shared resources of the production/maintenance departments
- Manage and track department-wide use of shared resources
- Expedite distribution of materials to job sites as directed by the Operations Support Manager or Project Managers in cooperation with the Nursery Supervisor
- Purchase gravel, concrete and irrigation materials via a Purchase Order as requested by Project Managers and communicate timelines with Nursery personnel
- Responsible for the closing out of POs with accurate cost information
- Proficient in spoken and written English, ability to speak and understand Spanish would be beneficial
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- A valid driver’s license that is insurable through the company’s insurance policy is required.
- A background in horticulture is extremely helpful.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written format, with all levels of personnel throughout the organization
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
- Ability to deal with a large amount of people contact via various methods (e-mail, phone and in person)
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
