The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Director of Retail to join our team at Yellowstone General Stores in West Yellowstone, Montana. As the Director of Retail, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a multi-store retail, grocery, and food and beverage operation. Pay
Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $104,100 – $140,500 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. What will you do?
- Oversee team members, ensuring effective staffing, training, and adherence to guest service standards
- Drive an exceptional in-store guest experience through strategic merchandise presentation, inventory management, and the development of a well-trained team
- Collaborate with the Buyer, Director of Merchandise, and local artisan suppliers to align on trends, product performance, and unique inventory opportunities
- Maintain strong communication with corporate retail support, stakeholders, and the National Parks Service to meet business goals, adhere to retail standards, and fulfill NPS contract requirements
- Support financial and operational reporting, policy compliance, and the development of retail supervisors and team members to ensure consistent performance and guest satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding alcohol, sanitation, payroll, employment, and EEO
- Communication regularly with corporate retail support and VP of Retail for Parks Resorts on business and corporate standards
More about you
- 5 – 10 years of retail operations management experience in a high volume environment with a mix of hardlines (souvenir) and softlines, some grocery is a plus. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience required.
- Multiple store operation experience required
- Some degree of experience with visual merchandising is strongly preferred
- Ability to train and develop team in retail stores and warehouse
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to travel between offices in West Yellowstone and throughout Yellowstone National Park throughout the season
- Valid drivers license is required due to the vehicle travel from our offices into the park to visit our stores
