Position Summary
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will conduct deep research on your accounts, identify and contact prospects, qualify opportunities, and connect the Account Executive team with prospects for discovery and demo calls. You will drive new business opportunities for the sales team during this incredible transformation in the power industry.
This is a development-level, career-starter role! Our sales and marketing teams are growing fast to meet our clients' demands. You will be the first person our prospects and customers interact with, meaning you can leave a lasting impression of the Yes Energy brand on our target accounts.
You will become an expert in the various segments of the power markets, gain a deep understanding of your accounts, and learn how Yes Energy’s value proposition and operating system align with targeted messaging for all the personas we work with. This role requires an analytical and creative approach to developing targeted lead lists for your accounts and a strategic approach to outbound activities and messaging to leads via cold calls, emails, and social engagement. As a Business Development Representative for our new business sales team, your primary goal is to schedule high-quality initial meetings and demonstrations with new prospects.

Primary Responsibilities
Partner with Account Executives to identify strategies to target key accounts within their territories to uncover new opportunities
Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, and develop accounts to stimulate opportunity
Conduct high-level discovery conversations in target accounts
Disseminate opportunities to appropriate AE, educating each rep as necessary about the opportunity
Become a trusted resource and develop productive relationships with prospects
Update lead scoring and prospect interaction in salesforce.com to ensure efficient lead management
Develop and generate Sales Qualified Leads by following up on marketing-generated leads and inbound requests
Researching and understanding various lines of business and personas
Learn how to have value-based discussions with prospects
Maintaining positive business relationships to ensure future sales
Prepare weekly / monthly / quarterly reports of sales results to the Business Development Manager
Work closely with the sales team to plan, execute, meet, and exceed pipeline goals
Build and develop your industry knowledge and skills to become a subject matter expert and progress further
Minimum Qualifications
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of one year experience in a new business sales role
Experience with a successful history of over-quota sales achievements
A minimum of one year of experience working in SaaS for Energy Markets is preferred
Experience in cold calling and leveraging an outbound sales tech stack is preferred
Experience using Salesforce CRM is preferred
