THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Compensation Analyst with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
THE ROLE
- Executing YES Prep’s compensation philosophy, policies, and protocols by determining compensation offers for campus roles and verifying all compensation data within the HRIS;
- Maintaining effective communication with staff, candidates, and hiring managers while creating, updating, and managing a comprehensive suite of compensation resources to ensure clarity and understanding of compensation policies and practices;
- Ensuring that 90% of extended teacher salary offers are accepted;
- Collaborating across all departments and campus leadership providing clear communication on compensation practices, policies, and decisions;
- Supporting with the annual roll-over process to ensure that all salary changes are accurate for the upcoming fiscal year;
- Successfully supporting with executing the creation and distribution of accurate annual compensation statements to all staff in May annually;
- Responding to inquiries regarding compensation practices and procedures, along with making recommendations for the resolution of outstanding issues;
- Regularly participating in and gathering data from market-based compensation surveys; using spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends for compensation improvements.
- Upholding our no-negotiation policy to ensure that we aren’t inequitably offering higher salaries for candidates who negotiate better than others;
- Conducting annual reviews and making recommendations for necessary compensation adjustments to address any identified disparities;
- Responding quickly and thoroughly to staff compensation questions and concerns and escalating concerns that impact our commitment to fair compensation and transparency;
- Leading with a lens of impartiality in all compensation decisions to ensure that we are meeting or leading market across instructional and non-instructional roles;
- Performing frequent audits of internal compensation data, then identifying and addressing discrepancies;
- Collecting and analyzing employee feedback and data on specific issues or topics related to compensation;
- Conducting market research to ensure pay structure is market competitive;
- Supporting with the annual stipend review process and the bi-annual stipend distribution process;
- Tracking and submitting all Talent owned stipends for processing and distribution to all eligible staff.

THE PERSON
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- 1-3 years of compensation experience or 1-3 years of experience in a role requiring high analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience specializing in a professional field such as compensation, data, or systems.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills: a strong working knowledge and the ability to use a wide range of Excel functions and tools quickly and effectively
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends as needed and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to operate in the gray and make informed decisions based on the available information

THE PERKS
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan.
Paid Time Off – Employees working 20 hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
