POSITION: Lunch Program Monitor
REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Operations Specialists
POSITION TYPE: 10-month, Part-time

A Lunch Program Monitor will monitor the daily meal program to ensure each student receives a reimbursable meal each day. The Lunch Program Monitor will ensure that all food compliance measures are being maintained.

A Lunch Program Monitor will monitor the daily meal program to ensure each student receives a reimbursable meal each day. The Lunch Program Monitor will ensure that all food compliance measures are being maintained.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with YES Prep’s Food Service Management Company (FSMC) with receiving inventory
- Reviewing YES Prep cafeteria inventory when it is delivered.
- Assisting with receiving food deliveries and organizing on the shelves when needed.
- Scanning of students for snack and supper meals for the after-school program.
- Entering all afterschool meals and snacks in the Point-of-Sale system before the end of the shift
- Substituting as servers when needed during the shift; Counting & Claiming - LPMs will record student ID numbers either electronically or manually
- Program Monitoring - making sure all students receive a reimbursable meal
- Cleaning/sanitizing when needed (wiping counters, washing dishes, organizing, storing items, sweeping, and mopping)
- Assisting with meal deliveries to various locations
- Assisting with nutrition education awareness events
- Assisting with participation incentive activities
- If applicable or assigned, assisting with after school programs
- Additional Child Nutrition duties as assigned

- Worked in a food service field for one year
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and evenings as needed
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools

- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Service Handler or Manager Certification
- CPR Certification
- Basic Computer Skills
- Bilingual – Spanish or other language
- Compensation – This position is a non-exempt, hourly position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $20 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work a minimum of 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
