COMPENSATION : $24.34 - $28.60, Home Office Grade 3

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Payroll Specialist to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
To put it simply, you will play an integral role in processing payroll, communicating with stakeholders to ensure the timely processing of paychecks, processing new hires, direct deposits, and W4s, and conducting pre- and post-audits on all payroll data.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include :
Executing day-to-day payroll operations;Processing payroll information for all YES Prep employees including regular pay, overtime pay, stipends and bonuses;Coordinating input of new hires with Talent Support to meet payroll deadlines;Maintaining leave accruals and time taken;Setting up new employees by entering all pertinent payroll information (e.g. payroll location, W4 tax information, Direct Deposits, TRS deductions, etc.);Maintaining time sheet access for new hires and managers in the time keeping system;Maintaining leave of absence payroll list for payroll to pay in accordance with Talent Support leave of absence list;Reviewing and processing time sheet, calculating overtime, PTO taken, extra duty pay, etc.;Processing payroll tax and direct deposit information for existing employees;Researching discrepancies of payroll information and / or documentation (e.g. W4 forms, time sheets, leave time, direct deposit, TRS eligibility, etc.);Researching and responding to employee inquiries;Additional duties as assigned.THE PERSON

Compensation - This position is a non-exempt, hourly position; offers commensurate with experience.Health and Supplemental Insurance - A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.Retirement Plans - Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan.Paid Time Off - Employees working 20 hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.Paid Leave Programming - In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.Professional Development - YES Prep values longevity and performance over time.
