Job Title:
Inpatient Behavioral Health Nurse PractitionerWe are seeking a full-time Inpatient Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner to work at Bullock Correctional Facility in Union Springs, AL. This role is responsible for providing mental health services to inmates/patients throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Responds to and initiates care for those requiring mental health services
- Assesses inmate/patient in various settings
- Identifies inmate/patient mental health problems and prescribes treatment under physician direction
- Implements mental health services using approved therapeutic regimens
- Provides mental health education to inmates/patients, healthcare staff, and correctional staff
- Documents all mental healthcare contacts
- Follows safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills
- Delegates to and supervises other infection control practices
- Adheres to Universal Precautions and standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university Nurse Practitioner program
- Current PMHNP license/certification in the state of employment
- Current CPR certification
- Availability to participate in on-call schedule
- Initial and ongoing security clearance requirements
- Background check, security clearance, and drug screening
