Overview
Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking a warm, dedicated, and engaging First Grade General Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position includes teaching literacy and math to two first-grade classes. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing classroom environment that fosters a love of learning, curiosity, and foundational academic skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach foundational literacy skills, including phonics, reading comprehension, and writing.
- Develop and implement engaging math lessons that build number sense, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Foster a student-centered, developmentally appropriate classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on learning, small-group instruction, and differentiated teaching.
- Assess student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing meaningful feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning and development.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents to support student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching experience in early elementary grades preferred.
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and early math instruction.
- Ability to create an engaging, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
