Overview
Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This part-time position includes teaching four classes each afternoon, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, promote scientific inquiry, and create an engaging, hands-on learning environment for middle school students.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle school science, incorporating topics in life, physical, and earth sciences.
- Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with educational standards and school values.
- Foster a student-centered classroom that encourages critical thinking, experimentation, and scientific discussion.
- Assess student progress through varied and meaningful assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Incorporate labs, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student growth and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching experience in middle school science preferred.
- Strong knowledge of scientific concepts, the scientific method, and lab safety.
- Ability to create an engaging, inquiry-based learning environment.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
