What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry and Housekeeping Worker position at Yesterday's Children, Inc.?
The Housekeeper and Laundry attendant is an integral part of the service wing team. They will be trained primarily in all aspects of the housekeeping and laundry department but will be cross trained in all service wing areas to fill in as needed. All staff are required to carry out assigned tasks to the standards of the facility and their department or another service wing department that they may be filling in for.
Requirements:
· 18 years of age
· Ability to work in a highly regulated environment
· Must be self-motivated and willing to follow established procedures
· Compassionate and caring towards the residents who have severe intellectual and developmental disabilities.
· Ability to lift at least 35 pounds
· Previous experience is helpful
Job Duties:
· Sorts, washes, dries, folds and delivers clean linens to closets and residents’ rooms.
· Cleaning and sanitizing: this includes dusting, polishing and sanitizing of resident rooms, common areas, offices, etc.
· Infection Control: Proper handling of bio-medical waste and ensuring a safe, infection free environment.
· Time management: meeting cleaning schedules and deadlines
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently.
· Other skills and knowledge: cleaning tools and supplies, physical stamina and strength, reliability, following departmental procedures and policies, following all safety and sanitation procedures.
· Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect.
This position will be Sundays and Mondays in the laundry and Tuesday - Thursday in housekeeping. The hours each day are 7 - 2:30.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
