Position Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to regulatory agencies and internal management;
- Lead process for obtaining and maintaining a variety of licenses and permits for all existing and new locations – including business, taxation, food, liquor, and tobacco;
- Maintain and use the licensing database to ensure all renewals are submitted in a complete and timely manner, avoiding penalty and interest charges. Manage multiple project deadlines and multi-task to meet those deadlines; and
- In coordination with internal legal counsel, mediate violations and fines with regulatory agencies, negotiate abatement efforts and coordinate timely resolution of such violations and fines (e.g. payment, corrective actions). Coordinate abatement efforts with internal stakeholders and communicate those efforts to regulators.
- Maintain complete and accurate records regarding the acquisition and maintenance of licenses and permits for all locations (e.g. all related correspondence, check requests, applications and the resulting licenses and permits);
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three years related experience is required with at least one year of experience in a legal, regulatory, and/or compliance environment preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to organize and meet deadlines for a wide variety of job assignments
- The ability to effectively work within a team environment with effective communication skills;
- The ability to continuously balance urgent and long term tasks.
