Position Summary
The Manager, Enterprise Security and Risk is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of a proactive security strategy. This role ensures compliance with security policies, procedures, and programs across all YKK AP America Inc. locations, creating a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and visitors. Additionally, this role oversees security incident response and leads security education and training initiatives.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Drive a culture of organizational learning, for example ensuring that the enterprise actively uses data, metrics and other inputs relating to security with a view to identifying and acting upon meaningful (and sustainable) improvement opportunities.
- Ensures security operational reviews are conducted quarterly at all locations to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions. Works closely with local leadership to correct deficiencies and increase compliance with these requirements.
- Manage the access control process, including processing employee security access, maintaining security access records, and conducting periodic reviews to ensure compliance.
- Establish and oversee physical security policies and procedures, leveraging industry best practices in security controls and risk mitigation.
- Manage security systems, including access control, digital IP video surveillance, visitor management, reporting, and incident management across all locations.
- Recommend, maintain, and monitor contracts for surveillance and alarm systems, ensuring effective implementation.
- Lead security incident investigations and ensure timely reporting to appropriate authorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community agencies (e.g., police, fire rescue) to support safety and security operations at all YKK AP locations and during emergency events.
- Prepare for and host inspections and audits conducted by third-party auditors when required.
- Oversee internal and external theft and workplace violence investigations, ensuring professional documentation of all findings.
- Provide strategic input and manage the execution of enterprise-wide security projects, including defining project scope, creating detailed plans, tracking progress, and providing updates to senior management and operational leaders.
- Manage risk mitigation assessments, security implementations, and compliance initiatives
- Maintain a forward-looking perspective to anticipate changes in security threats and regulatory requirements. Independently analyze complex security and risk topics. Stay ahead of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and methodologies by conducting diligent research and effectively leveraging all available resources.
- Act as a key liaison between global risk colleagues and local leadership, ensuring effective crisis preparedness and response.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, fostering strong relationships with senior management and operational leaders to align security services with organizational priorities.
- Communicate technology initiatives, resource needs, and interdependencies with management to support capital planning and technology integrations.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, overseeing bidding, contract negotiations, and procurement within approved budgets.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate physical security management, including risk mitigation and crisis response.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel to visit site locations.
