Job Summary
The College Pastor will lead and develop a vibrant college ministry that integrates students into the life of Northridge Christian Church while focusing on spiritual growth, community engagement, and leadership development for college students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Regular Worship Gatherings
- Coordinate and lead a regular worship event.
- Develop a strategy to grow attendance to 250 students per gathering
- Ensure consistent staff and volunteer presence from Northridge.
- Community Group Integration
- Collaborate with Groups Pastor to:
- Develop group curriculum strategy.
- Organize and promote community groups.
- Ensure Northridge adults facilitate most groups.
Partner With Assimilation Pastor To
- Create an annual strategy for student serving.
- Work with ministry leads to identify serving opportunities.
- Leadership Development Program
- Design and implement a 20-hour/week ministry internship program
- Strategically expand the program as funding becomes available
- Provide structured learning and ministry experience across departments
- Community and Growth Events
- Plan and execute events including:
- On-campus gatherings
- College campus events
- Mission trips
- Spiritual retreats
- Coordinate with the Community Engagement Pastor for outreach initiatives
- Deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Heart for empowering others towards their next steps closer to Christ.
- Adaptable and innovative approach to ministry.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Be an active participant of the Northridge team by engaging in staff meetings, activities, and events.
- Support and cast vision of the church and other ministry areas.
- Exemplify “Northridge Staff Values” and adhere to the content in the “Employee Handbook.”
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
- 3-5 years of experience in college ministry or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of discipleship methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for ministry purposes (e.g., church management software, video conferencing tools, website management).
