The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Reserve Ready Program Coordinator to join our team.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As the Reserve Ready Program Coordinator, you will provide assistance to the Expended Learning Opportunity Director in coordinating, planning, and implementing youth programming the first weekend of every month. This role will oversee branch operations and administration when the center is closed, but the program is open and respond to any emergencies and incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and/or close the facility following proper procedures.
  • Be the first responder to emergencies and incidents.
  • Follow all set program standards, including area specific expectations and guidelines.
  • Maintain positive communication and follow up with program participants.
  • Effectively communicate program information and progress as relevant.
  • Instruct classes as scheduled, and provide substitute instruction as needed.
  • Lead program activities and trainings within the Center assigned.
  • Update and prepare program schedules, communication, and other necessary resources.
  • Manage class registration functions as assigned.
  • Cultivate positive relationships to influence a positive staff and volunteer experience.

Qualifications

  • One to three years of direct experience in program area (preferred).
  • Minimum of one year coordinating people or activities is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with varying ages and diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of program specific safety and standards, latest trends and the ability to articulate and incorporate them.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in person training as required.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act)

Wage: $18.50 to $19.50 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 20 hours per month

Location: Lakewood Family YMCA, Lakewood, WA

Schedule Details: 5:00AM – 6:00PM first weekend of every month
