What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Camp - Dir of Cabin Life position at YMCA Camping Services?
Camp Foss is seeking a Cabin Life Director who wishes to impact the lives of over 600 youth this summer. Camp Foss is located on the serene Willey Pond in Strafford, NH. The Cabin Life Director will live onsite at camp this summer, work with children, and supervise staff at an all girls' YMCA overnight camp.
The Cabin Life Director's responsibilities include:
- Assist with the planning and implementation of staff week
- Develop all cabin lists/assignments
- Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of Village Leaders.
- Act as a behavior specialist in navigating challenging camper situations
- Responsible for communication between the Camp and camper families
- Play a key role in supporting the staff with camper problems
This responsibility requires enthusiasm, humor, patience, energy, maturity, focus and creativity on a continual basis in order to be an effective leader. Must be at least 21 years old and a graduate of an accredited college or university, or have 5 years related work experience. Applicants must have the ability to build positive relationships with youth ages 8-15 years old and staff members.
This position is at a girls’ overnight camp. Cabin Life Director is expected to live on site for 10 weeks beginning June 10, 2025 until August 16, 2025.
Pay range $600-$650 per week depending on experience. Room and board are included. Staff will gain lifelong skills that will be transferable to many future job and career choices.
